Beacon Park 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will attend 6 class periods a day, with a 0 period option. Classes will last 52 minutes during regular days and 40 minutes on modified days. Wednesdays will be shortened days, and students will be released early for staff to attend professional development and meetings.
BPMS students will take their required four core classes in their respective grade level: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. They will also take P.E. in addition to a year-long elective. All 6th grade students must select a Music course as their year-long elective, including Band, Orchestra, or Chorus. Our 7th and 8th grade students are able to choose their year long elective from the variety that will be offered by our staff.
The following is a description of our courses in three sections; the core classes and the year long electives.. The electives and exploratory courses will vary based on student interest and staff availability.
